Stay hydrated all year long!

Now that the summer is coming to a close, and the fall and winter are upon us, we may find that the change in seasons, and more specifically the climate within our homes may increase the chances that our skin will become dry and flaky.  It is especially important to remember to stay well hydrated throughout the day to keep your skin healthy and glowing! (as well as the rest of your precious body!) Your best bet is to drink filtered water.  A good rule of thumb is to drink ½ your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs., drink 75 oz. of water per day. Finding it hard to guzzle plain old H2O? Try some naturally flavored seltzers (no sweeteners), or better yet, some infused waters. Some fall favorites are Cinnamon infused or Cranberry Orange infused waters. See recipes below! Cheers!

 

Cinnamon Water

Instructions:

Drop a cinnamon stick in a pitcher of water and chill overnight.  Pour, serve & enjoy!

 

Optional:  (this adds a lovely pink hue to your infused water)

Simmer the cinnamon in a pot of water on the stove; a ratio of 1 cinnamon stick to 1 cup of water

Cool the liquid and use it as a concentrate to mix with cold water (or plain seltzer) and ice.

 

Cranberry Orange Water

Delicious with numerous health benefits! Add the lemon to aid with digestion!

Ingredients

  • 1 Orange cut into slices
  • 1 Lemon cut into slices
  • 1 cup of Fresh Cranberries
  • 2 Liters of Water

Instructions

  1. Cut orange and lemon into slices.
  2. Put orange, lemon, and cranberries into a pitcher and add about two liters of water.
  3. Let fruit steep for about 15-20 minutes. Serve with the fruit in glasses for a pretty presentation!
